Every Friday in June leading up to Heritage Days, K-100 is showcasing the bands performing on the Pepsi Main Stage and giving you the chance to preview their music before showtime.

This week Sparks chats with Freddie Dobbs and Dick Reck, of Heartsfield, who will playing the Heritage Days Pepsi Main Stage on Friday, June 23rd from 9:15 to 10:30 p.m.

From their band description:
Heartsfield are known for their vocal harmonies and layers of rootsy instrumentation (characterized by accents of pedal steel, dobro, banjo, mandolin, dobro, etc.) and have been credited with influencing such monster ’90s acts as The Dave Matthews Band and Phish. The group was also known for their grueling, Grateful Dead-like touring ethic, which saw them playing 300 shows a year throughout the ’70s with the likes of Eric Clapton, Fleetwood Mac, Steve Miller, Pure Prairie League, Joe Walsh, Willie Nelson among literally dozens more.

Over their decades of touring, the early years found them playing Macomb and Forgottonia on several occasions.
