Monthly Friends of the Hennepin Canal Hike on October 15th

SHARE NOW

The monthly hike with Friends of the Hennepin Canal is on Sunday, October 15, 2023, at 1:30 PM at Bridge 15. This “Hike the Hennepin” is called “Water Snake” and is 4.8 miles in length and goes from Bridge 17A to Bridge 15. The group will meet at Bridge 15 at 1:30 and get shuttled to Bridge 17A to begin the hike. Please note that you will meet at the parking lot nearest Bridge 15, which is the smaller one west of the Visitor Center parking lot and is located right by Bridge 15. The Hennepin Canal Visitor’s Center is located near Sheffield off of Route 40, just north of the Highway 6/34 and 40 intersections and just south of I80 (exit 45).

The monthly hikes were developed by the Friends of the Hennepin Canal as an opportunity for everyone to get to know the Canal personally by hiking it from the Illinois River to the Mississippi (including the Feeder Canal) in small legs.

You need not be a member of the Friends to join us in any of the hikes. There is no fee for the hikes. Come and join in the fun and bring a friend. We ask that you dress weather appropriately. For more information, contact Gary Wagle at: 309-236-6212 or by email at [email protected].
