    Very cold wind chills as low as 20 to 30 below.

    Portions of north central and northwest Illinois and east central and southeast Iowa.

    IMPACTS
    The dangerously cold wind chills as low as 30 below zero could cause frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 30 minutes. Frostbite and hypothermia will occur if unprotected skin is exposed to these temperatures.
    PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS
    Wear appropriate clothing, a hat, and gloves. Keep pets indoors as much as possible. Make frequent checks on older family, friends, and neighbors. Ensure portable heaters are used correctly. Do not use generators or grills inside.

Investigation into Shots Fired Call Continues in Rock Falls

On Friday, January 26th, at approximately 9:15pm Rock Falls Police were called to the 400 block of 3rd Avenue for a report of gunshots fired in the area.
When officers arrived, they located a residence which had been struck by gunfire. No injuries were reported.

Rock Falls Police, with the assistance of the Illinois State Police Crime Scene Unit, collected evidence from the scene. The incident remains under investigation at this time. No suspect information is available.

Anyone having information about this case should contact Rock Falls Police at 815-622-1140. Police are especially interested in any private surveillance video that show vehicles travelling in or around that location at the time of the incident.
