    IMPACTS
    The dangerously cold wind chills as low as 30 below zero could cause frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 30 minutes. Frostbite and hypothermia will occur if unprotected skin is exposed to these temperatures.
    PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS
    Wear appropriate clothing, a hat, and gloves. Keep pets indoors as much as possible. Make frequent checks on older family, friends, and neighbors. Ensure portable heaters are used correctly. Do not use generators or grills inside.

Former Lewistown Teacher Charged After Investigation Into Misconduct Allegations

LEWISTOWN, IL – A Lewistown High School teacher has announced to be receiving charges after an investigation into misconduct allegations concluded that she had provided alcohol to students and engaged in an inappropriate relationship with a student.

According to a report issued by Fulton County Sheriff Jon Webb, Lewistown Physical Education teacher and basketball Yanni Saddler, 27, was named in a January 3rd report to have provided alcohol to several students. Saddler resigned from her position as teacher and coach a week later, releasing a statement admitting to the accusation.

During the course of the investigation of the initial complaint, detectives discovered that Saddler had engaged in an inappropriate relationship with one of the students. The Fulton County State’s Attorney’s Office has filed charges against Saddler, charging her with Official Misconduct, Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor, Unlawful Delivery of Alcohol to a Minor, and Endangering the Life or Health of a Child.

At this time, the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office will not be releasing further information regarding the investigation out of respect for the victims and their families.

The Fulton County Sheriff’s Office investigation was conducted with assistance from the Fulton County State’s Attorney’s Office, Department of Children and Family Services, Lewistown Police Department, and Canton Police Department.

All suspects are presumed innocent until found guilty in a court of law.
