    Very cold wind chills as low as 20 to 30 below.

    Portions of north central and northwest Illinois and east central and southeast Iowa.

    IMPACTS
    The dangerously cold wind chills could cause frostbite on exposed skin in 30 minutes or less. Frostbite and hypothermia will occur if unprotected skin is exposed to these temperatures.
    PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS
    Wear appropriate clothing, a hat, and gloves. Keep pets indoors as much as possible. Make frequent checks on older family, friends, and neighbors. Ensure portable heaters are used correctly. Do not use generators or grills inside.

Bureau County Tourism is preparing its event highlights for the upcoming season and they need your contributions. If you’re behind any local events, from pancake breakfasts to historical tours, share the details by February 20th. They’re particularly interested in capturing the essence of past events through photographs, so don’t hold back! Bureau County Tourism is now a member of the Heritage Corridor Destinations, covering areas from Bureau County to LaSalle, Putnam, Will, Grundy, and Livingston counties.
