    IMPACTS
    The dangerously cold wind chills could cause frostbite on exposed skin in 30 minutes or less. Frostbite and hypothermia will occur if unprotected skin is exposed to these temperatures.
    PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS
    Wear appropriate clothing, a hat, and gloves. Keep pets indoors as much as possible. Make frequent checks on older family, friends, and neighbors. Ensure portable heaters are used correctly. Do not use generators or grills inside.

LaSalle County Sheriff Investigating an Allleged Attempted Murder and Suicide

On February 7th, 2024, the LaSalle County Sheriff’s Office responded to a distressing shooting incident. Sheriff Adam Diss revealed that deputies discovered a female suffering gunshot wounds at 3602 East 1759th Road around 4:48pm. The victim was rushed to OSF St. Elizabeth Hospital for immediate treatment. Disturbingly, inside the residence, a male, believed to have inflicted his own gunshot wound, was found deceased. While this shocking incident is isolated and offers no threat to public safety, it remains under investigation by local authorities and the Illinois State Police Crime Scene Investigation Unit. The identities of those involved are being withheld, pending further inquiries.
