    IMPACTS
    The dangerously cold wind chills could cause frostbite on exposed skin in 30 minutes or less. Frostbite and hypothermia will occur if unprotected skin is exposed to these temperatures.
    PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS
    Wear appropriate clothing, a hat, and gloves. Keep pets indoors as much as possible. Make frequent checks on older family, friends, and neighbors. Ensure portable heaters are used correctly. Do not use generators or grills inside.

U of I Extension and Black Hawk State Historic Site to Hold Family Wellness Event This Weekend

The University of Illinois Extension in association with the Black Hawk State Historic Site brings to you the third annual Winter Wellness Family Event. Penciled for Saturday, February 17, from 10 am to 1 pm at the Watch Tower Lodge, Black Hawk Park, Rock Island, Illinois. This exciting health and wellness event engages participants in lessons from ‘Blue Zones’, areas known for their long-living inhabitants. Guests can enjoy a ‘Blue Zone Bowl’, take part in DIY craft sessions, and get their health checked by nurses from UnityPoint Health. Children can engage in hands-on activities and try out an indoor obstacle course. Don’t forget to visit the Hauberg Museum and learn about the Sauk and Meskwaki (Fox) Indians.
