While the man accused of killing four people and injuring seven others in a southeast Rockford neighborhood remains behind bars, members of the Illinois House of Representatives took to the floor today to express their thoughts concerning the incident that occurred last week. All four were murdered in a 20-minute spree of violence in their neighborhood, as a knife-wielding suspect went door to door. Seven others were injured in the attacks.

State Representative John Cabello (R-Machesney Park) said he is all if favor of helping those who want to help themselves, but when we have such an incident as this, we must start protecting the citizens of this state.

22 year old Christian Soto has been ordered to remain behind bars after a judge determined he poses a threat to the community.
