Galesburg Fire Department tackled a significant blaze at 538 E. Brooks Street, involving some structures last Saturday. Three fire stations and 11 duty personnel responded to the fire that engulfed a shed and slightly damaged a house porch and neighboring garage. Although property damages are estimated at $10,000, the swift action prevented further destruction. One person affected by smoke was promptly treated and released from Saint Mary’s Medical Center. The cause of this fire remains under investigation by both the Galesburg Fire and Police Departments. Authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward to assist with the ongoing investigation.
