    IMPACTS
    The dangerously cold wind chills could cause frostbite on exposed skin in 30 minutes or less. Frostbite and hypothermia will occur if unprotected skin is exposed to these temperatures.
    PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS
    Wear appropriate clothing, a hat, and gloves. Keep pets indoors as much as possible. Make frequent checks on older family, friends, and neighbors. Ensure portable heaters are used correctly. Do not use generators or grills inside.

Bureau County Farm Bureau to Hold Event for Lady Landowners

Attention female landowners and farmers: Interested in learning how to support pollinator habitats and monarch butterflies? Join us for the ninth annual Lady Landowner seminar at the Bureau County Metro Center in Princeton on June 4th from 9:00 to 11:30 a.m. This engaging seminar will feature expert speakers including Bettyann Harrison, a U of I Master Gardener, who will discuss conservation tools, and Teresa Sanford-Shipplett, also known as Ms. Aggie, who will explore the crucial roles of monarch butterflies and other pollinators. Additionally, staff from FSA, NRCS, and SWCD will highlight assistance programs for creating and maintaining pollinator habitats.
