    Very cold wind chills of -15 to -20 below expected.

    Portions of north central, northwest, and west central Illinois, southeast Iowa, and northeast Missouri.

    From midnight tonight to noon CST Monday.
    IMPACTS
    The dangerously cold wind chills as low as 20 below zero could cause frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 30 minutes.
    PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS
    Use caution while traveling outside. Wear appropriate clothing, a hat, and gloves.

City of Macomb Announces Downtown Summer Concert Series 2024

MACOMB, IL – The City of Macomb, Office of Downtown Development has announced the return of the Downtown Summer Concert Series starting Wednesday, June 5th, with Bill Maakestad kicking off the 2024 season at the gazebo in Chandler Park from noon to 1 p.m.

Attendees are asked to bring their lunch and lawn chairs or a blanket to sit on to enjoy the entertainment in Chandler Park.

Performances for the 2024 season include:

  • June 12 – Troublesome Ridge Bluegrass Band
  • July 3 – SummerStage
  • July 10 – Mari Loehrlein
  • July 17 – King Neptune Blues
  • July 24 – The Odd Fellows
  • July 31 – Bluegrass Ensemble
  • August 7 – King Graffiti Band
  • August 14 – Prairieland Barbershop Chorus

It was also announced that starting this year, the Western Illinois Museum be serving as the concert’s rain location in the event of inclement weather. Information will be distributed on the morning of the performance to media and community members if the concert will be moved.
