2019 Peoria Murder Case Ends with Guilty Verdict

SHARE NOW

In a recent courtroom decision, 46-year-old Dmitri G. Rogatchev was convicted of First Degree Murder in the 2019 death of 75-year-old Sandra Jackson. Jackson, who employed Rogatchev as a live-in caretaker, was fatally injured following a dispute over the volume of her television. Although Rogatchev initially claimed that Jackson had mixed alcohol with her medication, medical experts testified that there was no alcohol in her system and that her injuries were inconsistent with a fall. The autopsy confirmed severe brain injuries due to blunt force trauma. Rogatchev’s sentencing is scheduled for July 15, concluding a tragic case that has captured the community’s attention.
