The Galesburg Police are asking anyone with information regarding the fatal shooting on Friday that killed one person and injured another to call them or submit a tip. On June 7, 2024, the Galesburg Police Department responded to a shots fired call at 949 East South Street. Officers located a gunshot victim inside the residence, who was pronounced deceased at the scene. A second gunshot victim was transported to OSF St. Mary Medical Center in Galesburg by an unknown person and later transported to OSF St. Francis in Peoria for treatment. The investigation is ongoing, and the victims’ names have not been released at this time. According to the Galesburg Police, there are no identifiable threats to the public, and this shooting appears to be an isolated event.
