    IMPACTS
    The dangerously cold wind chills could cause frostbite on exposed skin in 30 minutes or less. Frostbite and hypothermia will occur if unprotected skin is exposed to these temperatures.
    PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS
    Wear appropriate clothing, a hat, and gloves. Keep pets indoors as much as possible. Make frequent checks on older family, friends, and neighbors. Ensure portable heaters are used correctly. Do not use generators or grills inside.

McDonough County Community Foundation To Award Cobb Scholarship

MACOMB, IL – The McDonough County Community Foundation has announced that it will be making its first major award on Thursday, June 27th, in the Macomb City Hall Community Room starting at 1:30 p.m.

Three deserving area students will be receiving the Nathan Cobb Scholarship Memorial Scholarship, worth $5,000 each for tuition and expenses for the 2024-25 academic school year.

The Foundation is the administrator of this scholarship; made possible through the generous donation to the Foundation by Janet and Lee Cobb to honor their son’s legacy.

The public is invited to attend as the Foundation celebrates the awarding of this scholarship and its contribution to furthering the education of the recipients.
