In Cambridge, the Braveheart Children’s Advocacy Center is celebrating the success of its One Circle support groups, recently renamed Open Arms. The initiative, involving more than 50 students from three local schools, has made a notable impact in enhancing self-confidence, emotional health, and academic success among participants. The center credits the program with fostering a sense of belonging and resilience in young individuals. Moving forward, Braveheart is inviting more youth to join their upcoming summer sessions, aiming to further build a supportive community environment. “Joining the group has been a transformative experience,” shared one participant. “I feel more confident and supported, and my grades have even improved.”
“Hosting these support groups allows us to create a community where young people feel seen, heard, and valued,” said Taylor Hager, Group Facilitator at Braveheart Children’s Advocacy Center. “We aim to empower our participants by providing them with the tools and support they need to navigate their personal challenges and build stronger, more resilient futures.”
“Our mission at Braveheart is to foster a safe and nurturing environment for all youth,” explained Felisha Rogers, Community Outreach Coordinator at Braveheart Children’s Advocacy Center. “By offering specialized groups like the LGBTQ+ support group and the general support group, we ensure that every young person has access to the guidance and community they need to thrive, regardless of their background or identity.”
