Temporary parking restrictions will go into effect at 5 PM on July 3, 2024, for the July 3rd Fireworks display, and will remain in effect until the conclusion of the fireworks show. These temporary restrictions are in addition to the regular restrictions that are already posted. Attached is a list of those restrictions. There will be no parking across from the old electric plant, which is where the family area will be located. All streets will be posted, and vehicles in violation will be ticketed and towed away at the owner’s expense.
There will also be barricades set up at the intersections of Water and Plain Streets and Putnam and Water Streets. No traffic will be permitted on Water Street between Plain and Putnam. Traffic will not be permitted southbound on Pike St. from Market St. as well as Putnam St. South of first after 7:30 pm, which means no traffic except for emergency vehicles will be allowed on Water St. Special attention will also be paid to Putnam Street. It will be posted that there is no parking on either side, and violators will be ticketed and towed. Also, individuals who deface, destroy, or remove temporary parking signs will be prosecuted.
PERU RIVERFRONT FIREWORKS PARKING WILL GO IN EFFECT AT 5:00 P.M. ON JULY, 3rd AND WILL REMAIN IN EFFECT UNTIL AFTER THE FIREWORKS ARE ALL OVER.
