The second round to sign up for the Kewanee Area United Way (KAUW) Shoes for Kids program is on July 30, 2024, from 1-3 PM, in the Community Room at Fairview Homes. Any child who receives free or reduced lunches and attends a Kewanee School is qualified to receive shoes. An estimated 250 kids from PreK through 6th grade will receive shoes in August and September. The shoes are provided at cost by Breedloves Sporting Goods and are ordered by size and gender as supplied during sign-up. Kewanee Area United Way said, “We are so excited by the response of individuals and businesses that have stepped up since the board approved this community project in March.”
