June 24
Officer, along with the fire department and Stark Co Medic, were dispatched to the 1100 block of North Center Ave for a complaint of a high pressure gas line that had been struck and was leaking. Ameren was contacted and was able to shut the gas off.
Officer was dispatched to the 100 block of NE 6 th Ave for an activated medical pendant. Stark Co Medic also responded.
Officer was dispatched to the 200 block of NE 2 nd Street for a loose and aggressive dog.
Officer was dispatched to the 200 block of SE 3 rd Ave for a traffic complaint involving a juvenile driving a lawn mower.
Officer was dispatched to the 100 block of NE 4 th Street for a loose dog complaint. The dog owner arrived prior to the officer and took the dog back home.
Officer was dispatched to the 500 block of SW 3 rd Ave for a disturbance involving a subject threatening family members with a knife. As the result, Brandon Swank, 28, Galva, was arrested for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
June 25
Officer was dispatched to the 300 block of South Center Ave for a 9-1-1 open line call. It was determined to be a child playing with a phone.
Officer, along with the fire department and Stark Co Medic, were dispatched to a residence on SE 8 th Ave for a possible suicide attempt after a gas stove was left on, the thermostat was turned up, and the resident was found unresponsive. The subject was transported by ambulance for evaluation/treatment.
Officer was dispatched to the 00 block of NE 9 th Street for an activated medical alarm. It was determined to be an accidental activation.
Officer was notified about a juvenile warrant that was issued for a Galva address. The subject in question moved from town a few months back.
Officer was dispatched to the 400 block of NW 1 st Street for a utility wire complaint. Two phone lines were pulled down by an unknown vehicle. Frontier was notified for repairs.
Officer, and the fire department, were dispatched to the 100 block of SE 2 nd Ave for an activated smoke detector. Handled by fire department.
Officer was dispatched to the 100 block of NW 7 th Ave for a disorderly conduct complaint.
Officer was dispatched to the 300 block of NW 3 rd Ave for a trespassing complaint.
June 26
Officer was dispatched to the 200 block of NE 1 st Street for a loose dog complaint. The dog owner was on scene and was able to get the dog back home.
Officer was dispatched to the 900 block of West Division Street for a domestic disturbance. This complaint was unfounded.
June 27
Officer was dispatched to the 400 block of SE 3 rd Ave for an abandoned vehicle complaint. The officer found a note that advised the owner would have vehicle towed.
Officer was dispatched to the 100 block of SW 7 th Street for a loose dog complaint. Officer recognized the dog and returned it to the owner.
Officer was requested to assist Kewanee PD with attempting to locate a subject to check their welfare. Officer was not able to locate.
June 28
Officer was dispatched to the 100 block of Main Street for a physical domestic disturbance involving threats with a firearm. The suspect had left the scene prior to police arrival. A shotgun was removed.
Officer was dispatched to the 600 block of SE 2 nd Street for two loose dogs running in their yard. Officer was not able to locate.
Officer was dispatched to the 600 block of NW 1 st Street for a low speed vehicle inspection.
Officer met with a subject at the Galva PD to fill out a freedom of information act request.
June 29
Officer was dispatched to the 100 block of SE 2 nd Street for a 9-1-1 hang up complaint. It was determined to be a child playing with a phone.
Officer was dispatched to assist Kewanee PD with a welfare check at Sentry Estates after a verbal family dispute in Kewanee. The subjects were fine.
June 30
Officer was dispatched to Route 34 just east of town for a vehicle vs deer collision. The deer was dispatched. A crash report was completed.
Officer was dispatched to the 300 block of SW 4 th Ave for a battery complaint.
Officer was dispatched to the 00 block of NW 7 th Ave for a loose dog complaint. The dog was impounded.
Officer was dispatched to the front of the Galva PD for a medical emergency involving a child. Child was transported by ambulance.
Officer was dispatched to the intersection of SE 2 nd Street and SE 1 st Ave for a two vehicle accident with air bag deployment. A crash report was completed.
Officer was dispatched to the 400 block of NE 9 th Street for a 9-1-1 hang up complaint. The call plotted at a cell phone tower. Officer did not locate anyone needing assistance.
Officer was dispatched to the 900 block of SE 2 nd Street for a loose dog complaint. Officer was not able to locate.
