Some Kewanee residents are under a boil order after an emergency fire hydrant replacement on July 4, 2024. The City of Kewanee posted the boil order for: Residents in the 500 Block of Willard and Dwight, 100, 200 and 300 Blocks of East College. And all of East Kellogg Street.
Customers in the are may experience low water pressure and/or rusty water. The homes that lost water service are the only ones under the boil order. Only flush the system by running cold water to avoid drawing rust into your water heater. Only water being consumed needs to be boiled.
