The Geneseo Police Department arrested David Boan, 22, on charges of attempted first-degree murder and aggravated domestic battery. The arrest followed a police response to a disturbance on South Congress Street, where a victim was found with multiple stab wounds to the head, face, and body. The victim was transported to Illini Hospital in Silvis and later transported to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics for further treatment of serious but non-life-threatening stab wounds. A petition to deny pretrial release was granted, and David Boan will be detained in the Henry County Jail. A Preliminary Hearing is scheduled for July 22, 2024, at 1 PM.
The investigation by the Geneseo Police Department is ongoing. David Boan is charged with Attempted First Degree Murder (Class M Felony), Aggravated Battery/Great Bodily Harm (Class 3 Felony), and Aggravated Battery/Victim 60+ (Class 3 Felony).
All suspects and arrestees are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
