The Henry County Office of Emergency Management has declared a local state of emergency for Kewanee and Wethersfield Townships. Residents in these areas who are uninsured or underinsured and do not have the physical ability to clear downed trees from their property, may request assistance from the Henry County Office of Emergency Management. The Henry County OEM has partnered with local non-profit to provide tree cutting services for qualifying residents. “This is an offer for physical assistance, and not a financial benefit.”
Qualifying residents should call the OEM at 309-937-3999 as soon as possible to be added to the list of interested properties. The Henry County OEM remained open overnight to process requests and provide an open shelter for those in need.
