The National Weather Service of the Quad Cities confirmed a second EF1 tornado hit Kewanee Monday night. The second tornado’s path struck the north side of Kewanee, tearing apart Baker Park Golf Course on its way.  The patch started on the northwest side of Baker Park and travelled in a line southeast to 6th and Main Streets. This tornado had estimated winds of 105 mph, was approximately 50 yards wide, and traveled for approximately 1.48 miles.  A structure at 6th and Chestnut lost half its roof.  We talked about the wall cloud that formed this tornado in our live coverage on our Facebook Page Monday night. “Between the two tornadoes and widespread winds, well over a hundred trees were downed/severely damaged in town.”

The EF1 tornado that hit the south side of town had estimated winds of 110 mph, was approximately 200 yards wide, and traveled approximately 5.58 miles.
