The Western Illinois University Football program is hosting a Women’s Football Night on Friday, August 9th, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Women are encouraged to come together and support Leatherneck football and experience the thrill of the game. The night will start in Western Hall with appetizers, a “ChalkTalk,” and a tour of the football facilities from the coaching staff. The night ends under the lights of Hanson Field where players and coaches will lead football drills and host a photo shoot with Western Illinois’ mascot, Colonel Rock IV.
“The ladies are going on the field first this season,” said first-year Head Coach Joe Davis. “We are excited to have the women who love WIU football over for a night of food, fun, and football. I can’t think of a better way to start the season.”
Single tickets are $20 and include WIU football swag, two tickets to the first home game of the season on September 28 against McKendree, an appetizer tailgate provided by Hy-Vee, ChalkTalk with WIU coaches, a tour of the football facilities, football gear photo shoot with Colonel Rock IV, and player- and coach-led basic football drills.
