RaeAnn Tucker from the Henry and Stark County Health Department joined Wake Up Tri-Counties to discuss the open house at the Toulon First Choice Healthcare location, walk-in school physicals at all three First Choice Healthcare locations (Kewanee, Colona, and Toulon), heart health events, and mental health events in August.

The Henry and Stark County Health Department, First Choice Healthcare, and the Kewanee Public Library are inviting the public to attend a special program on heart health, “Coronary Risk Factors: How To Reduce Your Risk & Improve Your Health.” The program is on Wednesday, August 7, 2024, from 1:30 to 2:30, in the Community Room at the Kewanee Public Library, 102 S. Tremont Street, by Director of Health Promotion RaeAnn Tucker.  According to RaeAnn Tucker, “We all carry risk factors – some we can control and others we are simply born with…Many times by making some simple tweaks to our lifestyle and habits can gain us some measurable health benefits. I think it should be a fun and enjoyable afternoon that will give participants some tools to improve their overall health and wellbeing. There will be free blood pressure checks, health information, and giveaways will be available to those in attendance.

First Choice Healthcare clinics hold a special “Pop Up Walk-In” School and Sports exam day on Monday, August 12, 2024, from 12 to 6 PM. The clinics in Kewanee, Colona, and Toulon will offer the school and sports physicals for $40, and they ask you to bring your insurance information with you if you have insurance. The clinic will offer area Junior High and Senior High School Athletes, Freshmen, Sixth Graders, Kindergartners, and Preschoolers school or sports physicals. Please note that to help reduce wait times, arrive with your completed physical forms (obtained through your local school districts).
