Samantha Rux from OSF Healthcare joined Wake Up Tri-Counties to talk about the King Care-A-Van program. The OSF King Care-A-Van is named in recognition of its donors, Don and Val King of Manlius, Illinois, in Bureau County. Don and Val King are advocates for wellness in rural communities and wanted their donation to provide rural residents with access to screenings, immunization, and health education. The mobile health center is funded in cooperation with the OSF HealthCare Foundation and the King Family. The mobile health center is staffed by OSF HealthCare and area agencies, including local health departments. The King Care-A-Van serves patients in Bureau, Henry, LaSalle, and Putnam Counties since 2019.
