Congressman Eric Sorensen (IL-17) will join Macomb Mayor Michael Inman, Public Works Director Alice Ohrtman, City Administrator Scott Coker, and Project Engineer Mark Lee on a tour of the storm sewer site on McArthur Street in Macomb on Tuesday, August 6, 2024, at 1 PM. Congressman Eric Sorensen requested $1.6 million in federal funding to replace the existing storm sewer system because the current system is unable to handle increased storm flows, which leads to frequent flooding. The tour will begin at the storm sewer site at 415 McArthur Street at 1:00 p.m. A press conference will begin at approximately 1:30 at Macomb City Hall, 232 E. Jackson Street, in the Macomb Community Room (1st floor on the left).
