August 12, 2024 through August 18, 2024

August 12
Officer met with a resident at the Galva PD to renew their annual sex offender registration. A completed form was emailed to Henry Co for LEADS entry.
Officer was dispatched to the 400 block of NW 1 st Street for a complaint involving harassing text messages.
Officer was dispatched to the 00 block of SW 4 th Street for an abandoned dog.
Officer was dispatched to the Galva PD to meet a group of people that were applying for a solicitors permit. Officer completed a background check and a permit was issued through City Hall.
Officer was dispatched to Wiley Park after a group of young children dumped a garbage can in the restrooms. A parent arrived and was confrontational. Officer ultimately cleaned up the mess left behind.
Officer was dispatched to the 700 block of SE 6 th Street for a parking complaint. The registered owner was found to be one of the solicitors that had gotten a permit earlier in the day.
Officer, along with the fire department, were dispatched to a vehicle fire several miles south of town.
Officer was dispatched to the 400 block of Swank Street for a solicitor complaint. The subjects did have a valid permit.

August 13
Officer was dispatched to the 300 block of SE 3 rd Street for a 9-1-1 open line complaint. It was determined to be an accidental dial.
Officer was dispatched to the 00 block of SW 8 th Ave to assist Kewanee PD with a message delivery. The subject was located and the message was delivered.
Officer met with a subject at the Galva PD to assist them with options for payment on a speeding ticket they had received.
Officer was dispatched to the 300 block of SW 3 rd Street for a 9-1-1 hang up complaint. The subject was suffering from a mental health crisis.
Officer was advised of a vehicle that had been stolen from Kewanee and was possibly on way to Galesburg. Kewanee PD found vehicle within their city limits.
Officer was dispatched to the 00 block of SW 8 th Ave for a 9-1-1 hang up complaint. Officer did not locate anyone needing assistance.

August 14
Officer was dispatched to the 00 block of SW 4 th Street for an abandoned dog complaint. The dog was removed and impounded. A written notice of impoundment was posted on the door.
Officer was dispatched to the 300 block of SW 3 rd Street for an ambulance request. The subject was suffering from a mental health crisis.
Officer was dispatched to the Exchange Street and SW 6 th Ave railroad tracks for crossing arm malfunctions. This was related to the repairs being done on Chester Street. BNSF was contacted for repairs.
Officer was dispatched to the 00 block of SW 2 nd Street for an unknown issue. It was determined to be a medical issue. Stark Co Medic were dispatched to handle.

August 15
Officer spoke to a caseworker with alternatives for the older adult. Several reports were emailed to them as part of an open investigation they have.
Officer was dispatched to the 600 block of NW 1 st Street for a possible violation of an order of protection complaint.

August 16
Officer was dispatched to the 1200 block of SE 2 nd Street to complete a low speed vehicle inspection.
Officer was dispatched to the 1100 block of SE 2 nd Street for an anonymous complaint involving a city ordinance violation. The complaint was unfounded.
Officer was flagged down and given a wallet that had been found. Officer was able to locate the owner and return it.
Officer was dispatched to assist Henry Co with traffic control for the fatal car accident north of town.
Officer was dispatched to the 00 block of SW 8 th Ave for a 9-1-1 hang up complaint. Officer spoke to a group of juveniles, who denied making any calls.
Officer was dispatched to the 500 block of West Division Street for a trespassing complaint.
Officer was dispatched to the 300 block of SW 3 rd Street for an ambulance request. The subject was suffering from a mental health crisis.
Officer was dispatched to the 100 block of Market Street for a shop lifting complaint. A Galva juvenile was located and the items were returned. No charges were filed.
Officer was dispatched to the 700 block of NW 1 st Ave for a suspicious noise complaint. Officer checked the residence and did not locate anyone or anything unusual.

August 17
Officer was dispatched to the 200 block of SW 4 th Street for a trespassing / trash dumping complaint.
Officer was dispatched to the 300 block of SW 3 rd Street for a disorderly conduct complaint involving a
subject screaming obscenities. The subject agreed to go inside the house and to be quiet.
Officer was dispatched to the 300 block of SW 3 rd Street for a disorderly conduct complaint involving a subject screaming obscenities. Officer was not able to locate the subject outside.

August 18
Officer was dispatched to the 900 block of SE 2 nd Street for a disturbance involving a firearm being displayed. The “firearm” was found to be a small plastic green colored toy gun.
Officer was dispatched to the 600 block of NW 1 st Street for a possible violation of an order of protection.
Officer was dispatched to the 200 block of North Center Ave for a traffic complaint involving a lawn mower with no tail lights. Officer was not able to locate it.

Evon Zefo, 58, Galesburg, was issued a citation for speeding in the 1100 block of SE 2 nd Street.
Brian Hoffman, 39, Galva, was issued a citation for having expired registration in the 00 block of SE 6 th Ave.

August 15
Damien Foster, 31, Aledo, was issued a citation for having expired registration in the 00 block of SW 9 th Ave.
