August 19
Officer dispatched to the Chester Street railroad crossing for a welfare check. A motorist reportedly fell asleep at the wheel while waiting for a train to pass through. The subject was woken up and was able to drive away.
Officer was dispatched to the intersection of SW 2nd Street and SW 9th Ave for several tools and pieces of metal that fell off a vehicle.
Officer was dispatched to Route 34 just west of town for a loose dog near the roadway. Officer was not able to locate.
Officer was dispatched to the railroad tracks at NE 6th Ave for a semi truck / trailer that had turned too wide and gotten stuck on the tracks. BNSF was contacted and was able to stop an approaching train.
The semi was pulled from the tracks by an end loader.
Officer was dispatched to the 200 block of Morgan Road for a report involving a stolen bicycle.
Officer spoke to a subject by telephone about threats they had received involving a past relationship.

Officer was dispatched to the 500 block of NE 3rd Street for a domestic disturbance.
Officer was dispatched to the east edge of town for a traffic complaint that occurred near Kewanee. Officer was not able to locate the suspect vehicle.
Officer was dispatched to Sentry Estates for several 9-1-1 calls. It was a child playing with a phone.

August 21
Officer was dispatched to the 300 block of SW 3rd Street for a complaint of an intruder stabbing people.
The subject was suffering from a mental health crisis. The complaint was unfounded.
Officer was dispatched to the 200 block of NW 3rd Ave for a utility wire that was across the roadway. It was determined to be a phone line. Frontier was notified for repairs.
Officer was dispatched to the 900 block of SE 2nd Street for a 9-1-1 open line complaint.
Officer was dispatched to the 00 block of SW 4th Street for a threats complaint.
Officer was dispatched to the 600 block of NE 3rd Ave for a domestic disturbance / remove unwanted subject complaint.

August 22
Officer spoke to a resident by telephone about an assault that had occurred. This case is under investigation.
Officer was notified that all Galva railroad crossings were activated and no trains were present. BNSF was contacted for repairs.
Officer was dispatched to Wiley Park for a verbal dispute between several juveniles and an adult.
Officer was dispatched to the 00 block of SE 5th Ave for a report of a possible stolen dog. The dog was located and was unharmed.
Officer was dispatched to the 00 block of SW 4th Street for a civil stand by to retrieve property.
Officer was dispatched to the 900 block of SE 2nd Street for a loose dog complaint.
Officer was dispatched to the 400 block of SW 7th Street for a loose dog complaint.

August 23
Officer was dispatched to the 800 block of SE 1st Street for a 9-1-1 hang up call. It was determined to be a mis dial.
Officer was dispatched to the 900 block of SW 2nd Street for a civil standby.
Officer was dispatched to the 600 block of SW 2nd Ave for a loos dog complaint. The owner was located and the dog was returned.
Officer was dispatched to meet with a resident at the Galva PD in reference to Facebook harassment.

August 24
Officer was dispatched to the 400 block of East Division Street to assist a subject that had locked themselves out of the house.
Officer was dispatched to the 200 block of SE 1st Ave for a 9-1-1 hang up call. It was determined to be a pocket dial.
Officer was dispatched to the 200 block of Morgan Road for a suspicious vehicle complaint.
Officer was dispatched to a residence on SW 4th Ave for a suicidal subject. The subject was transported by ambulance for evaluation / treatment.
Officer was dispatched to the 00 block of NW 4th Street for a scam complaint.
Officer was dispatched to the 00 block of SW 4th Street for a theft complaint. It was determined to be a civil issue.

August 25
Officer was dispatched to the 1100 block of SE 2nd Street to assist the ambulance with a heat related illness complaint.
