Galva Mayor Rich Volkert joined Wake Up Tri-Counties to talk about the council meeting on Monday, August 26th. The City of Galva recognized Denny Tarelton for his years of service to the residents of Galva. He has been the Fire Chief for the Galva Fire Department for the last 19 years, and he recently sold the family-owned gas station and repair shop. The council discussed an amendment to the city code regarding delinquent water customers to reduce the work on city staff. City Council meetings will be on the first Monday of each month beginning in October. You have until September 10th to buy a tree from the city for $50, but there are discounted options. Contact City Hall for an order form or more information. The next Galva cleanup week is from September 30th to October 5th. Find more information here about the city cleanup.
