Medicaid-Enrolled Healthcare Provider Revalidation Resuming

Attention Illinois Medicaid providers: It’s time to revalidate your enrollment! The Illinois Department of Healthcare and Family Services (HFS) has resumed its revalidation process, a federal requirement paused during the COVID-19 public health emergency.

This update is crucial for continuing your services and billing with Medicaid. Providers will get a notification 90 days before their due date, based on their initial enrollment date, with a follow-up reminder 30 days prior. Failure to revalidate on time will result in termination from the Medicaid program, halting all payments. HFS has enhanced the process with the introduction of multifactor authentication in their IMPACT system.

To aid providers, HFS is offering resources such as step-by-step instructions, video tutorials, and a stakeholder toolkit available on the IMPACT website. For additional support, HFS is enhancing its call center and organizing virtual town hall meetings to guide and respond to provider inquiries. Remember, timely revalidation is critical; delays could lead to undesirable gaps in enrollment and payment eligibility.

If providers need further assistance in completing revalidation, Provider Enrollment call center staff are available Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. at 877-782-5565.
