Court Updates from August 27, 2024

Javon Porter was scheduled for a plea hearing on August 27th, but a continuance was requested by the defense because the labs haven’t been received. A Jury Pre-Trial is scheduled for September 12, 2024, at 10 AM.  Porter is charged with Attempted Murder (Class X Felony), Possession of a Firearm by a Felon (Class 3 Felony), Reckless Discharge of a Firearm (Class 4), and two counts of Aggravated Battery with a Firearm (Class X Felony).

Tom Ainley was scheduled for a Jury Trial on August 27, 2024, but decided to accept a plea deal instead. Ainley pleaded guilty to Count 4 of Resisting Arrest. Tom Ainley received 180 days in the Henry County Jail, with day-for-day credit and credit for time served, a $100 fine, and assessments.  He will report to the Henry County Jail on September 26th.

Ainley was originally charged with Aggravated Battery/Victim 60+ (Class 3 Felony), Domestic Battery/Physical Contact (Class A Misdemeanor), Domestic Battery/Bodily Harm (Class A Misdemeanor), and Resisting Arrest (Class A Misdemeanor).
