Charles Doty III: Charles Doty III remains in custody. The State filed a Motion to Collect DNA. A Jury Pre-Trial is scheduled for October 24, 2024, at 11 AM. The defense said that Doty III has secured housing that is separate from the victim and the mother of the victim. The child and her mother were present in court and do not object to his release. The state objected to his release. Judge Hathaway ruled that Doty III will remain detained. Katherine Elliott: Katherine Elliott remains in custody. The State received the fitness report from Dr. Brownfield. Jason Reiche: Jason Reiche remains in custody. The last counteroffer to the state was declined. State’s Attorney Runty said she spoke with the victim, and the victim denied the counteroffer. William Borsch: William Borsch remains in the Henry County Jail on a $200,000 (10%) bond. They will possibly enter into a plea or a partially negotiated plea. Due to his connection to another case, Borsch will need to remain in Henry County to testify. The other case may go to trial in November. A Jury Pre-Trial is scheduled for November 21, 2024, at 2 PM. Melcon DeJesus: Melcon DeJesus remains in the custody of the Henry County Jail on a $500,000 (10%) bond. The state will file a 115/10 Motion. A Jury Pre-Trial is scheduled for October 24, 2024, at 1 PM. DeJesus is charged with Four (4) counts of Predatory Criminal Sexual Assault of a Child under 13 (Class X Felony).
Brandon Parsons: The defense has filed a motion regarding the defense expert’s schedule. The expert needs 60 days to evaluate the case. The defense thinks the case will be ready in the new year. Barring any developments, this will be the last pretrial continuance. A Jury Pre-Trial is scheduled for December 19, 2024, at 2 PM.
