September 16
Officer was dispatched to the 00 block of SE 6 th Ave for a loose dog complaint. A neighbor recognized the dog and returned it to it’s property nearby.
Officer was dispatched to the 500 block of East Division Street for a welfare check on dogs that didn’t appear to have water and proper shelter. The complaint was unfounded.
Officer met with the relative of a resident to turn over firearms that have been held at the Galva PD for safekeeping after an earlier suicide attempt.
Officer was dispatched to the 00 block of NE 2 nd Street to assist Kewanee PD with a forgery case they are handling.
As the result of a traffic stop in the 00 block of SW 2 nd Street. Renee Rose, 22, Bradford, was arrested for driving while license suspended. She was taken to the Galva PD for processing and later released with a required court date.
September 17
Officer was flagged down by a resident in the 200 block of NW 5 th Street to inquire about a FOID card suspension. The subject had received a new card in the mail. It was found to be valid again.
Officer was dispatched to a verbal domestic disturbance involving an out-of-control juvenile in the 200 block of NW 7 th Ave.
Officer was dispatched to the 500 block of SW 3 rd Ave for a verbal domestic disturbance / remove unwanted subject complaint.
Officer was dispatched to the 300 block of Main Street to investigate a complaint of several juveniles dressed in all black clothing and lurking around several businesses after closing hours. Officer was not able to locate them.
Officer was dispatched to the 600 block of SW 5 th Ave for a 9-1-1 open line complaint. It was determined to be an accidental dial.
September 18
Officer was dispatched to the 1000 block of North Center Ave for a criminal damage to vehicle complaint after a windshield was found with damage. This remains under investigation.
Officer was dispatched to a residence in Galva for a complaint of possible sexual abuse that had occurred. This case remains under investigation.
Officer was dispatched to the 300 block of North Center Ave for a 9-1-1 open line complaint. Officer spoke to a resident, who denied needing assistance.
Officer was dispatched to the 600 block of SE Industrial Ave for a complaint of a passing motorist dumping a dog out and speeding away. Officer was not able to locate the dog or vehicle.
Officer was dispatched to the 700 block of NW 4 th Ave for a traffic complaint involving a utility trailer parked along the roadway. It was not determined to be a traffic hazard.
Officer was dispatched to the 300 block of SE 6 th Street for a complaint involving unknown subjects throwing items at a house. Officer was not able to locate anyone in the area.
September 19
Officer was dispatched to the 100 block of East Division Street to assist a subject that had lost his wallet in the downtown area.
Officer was dispatched to the 700 block of NE 2 nd Ave for a 9-1-1 hang up call. It was determined to be a mis dial.
September 20
While patrolling, officer noticed that several railroad crossing arms were activated and no trains were present. BNSF was contacted for repairs.
Officer was dispatched to the 00 block of SW 4 th Street to remove an unwanted subject after a disturbance.
Officer was dispatched to the 00 block of SW 4 th Street for a trespassing complaint.
September 21
Officer was dispatched to the 300 block of Front Street for a disturbance complaint involving several patrons.
Officer was dispatched to a residence on NE 6 th Ave to check the welfare of a subject.
Officer was dispatched to the 700 block of West Division Street to assist a motorist that locked their keys inside a vehicle. They were referred to a locksmith.
Officer was dispatched to the 300 block of NW 8 th Ave for a utility wire that had been pulled down by farm machinery. Mediacom was contacted for repairs.
Officer was dispatched to the 600 block of NW 4 th Ave for a loose dog complaint. It was taken to impound and later released to it’s owners from rural Bishop Hill.
September 22
Officer was dispatched to the 00 block of NE 1 st Ave for a verbal domestic disturbance.
Officer was dispatched to the 400 block of SW 3 rd Ave for a loose dog complaint. It was impounded and later released to it’s owner.
Officer was dispatched to the 100 block of SE 2 nd Street for a 9-1-1 open line complaint. It was determined to be a pocket dial.
Officer was dispatched to the 400 block of North Center Ave for a theft complaint.
Officer was dispatched to the 00 block of SW 2 nd Street for a welfare check after a child custody exchange had occurred.
Officer spoke to a subject about a possible violation of an order of protection complaint. This remains under investigation.
