October 14, 2024 through October 20, 2024

October 14
Officer was dispatched to the 00 block of SW 4 th Street to assist a resident with looking for her cat. The cat was later found unharmed in a drawer within the apartment.
Officer met with a resident at the Galva PD to take a report of a sexual assault that took place several weeks back. This case is under investigation.
Officer spoke to a resident by telephone in reference to a telephone scam that they fell victim to regarding a Facebook account.
Officer spoke to a resident in the 400 block of NW 2 nd Ave in reference to a recent AWT that they had received.
Officer issued an ordinance warning for an unlicensed vehicle in the 1000 block of SW 2nd Street.

October 15
Officer spoke to a registered sex offender by telephone in reference to questions that had arisen.
Officer went to the Braveheart Children’s Advocacy Center in Cambridge to witness a forensic interview of a sexual assault victim.
While patrolling, officer located a utility wire down across the roadway in the 1000 block of North Center Ave. It was determined to be a phone wire. Frontier was contacted for repairs.

October 16
Officer was dispatched to the 300-400 block of SW 3 rd Street for a suspicious person complaint. It was determined to be a resident having a mental health crisis.
Officer was dispatched to the 500 block of West Division Street for a low speed vehicle inspection.
Officer was dispatched to Washington Park for an unknown damage complaint involving the swing set having a broken part of the frame.
Officer was dispatched to the west edge of town after a motorist hit a cat with their vehicle. Officer was not able to locate it afterwards.

October 17
Officer was dispatched to the 400 block of SE 6 th Street involving a wild animal complaint involving skunks.
Officer was dispatched to the 200 block of NW 7 th Ave for a loose dog complaint. As the result, William Self, 64, Galva, was arrested on two Henry Co warrants for driving while license revoked and criminal trespass to state supported property. He was unable to post bond and was transported to the Henry Co Jail.
Officer was dispatched to the east edge of town for a traffic complaint. Officer was not able to locate suspect vehicle.

October 18
Officer was dispatched to a residence on SW 3 rd Ave after a welfare check was requested. The residents were out-of-town and were fine.
Officer went to the 00 block of SW 4 th Street to return a cell phone that had been found and turned in. As the result, Dustin Bowman, 43, Kewanee, was arrested on two Henry Co warrants for failing to appear on traffic charges. He was taken to the Henry Co Jail.
Officer was dispatched to the 00 block of NW 4 th Street for a telephone scam report.
Officer was dispatched to the east edge of town for a reckless driving complaint. Henry Co was able to locate the vehicle and ultimately arrested the driver on a warrant.
Officer was dispatched to the 1000 block of SW 2 nd Street for a loose dog complaint. Officer was not able to locate.
Officer was flagged down about a stop sign that was destroyed and laying down east of town along Route 34. IDOT was notified and put a temporary sign back up.

October 19
Officer was dispatched to the 300 block of Front Street to remove an unwanted patron.
As the result of a traffic stop in the 1000 block of SE 2 nd Street, Leah Middleton, 24, Galesburg, was cited for operating a vehicle when registration suspended for mandatory insurance. She was released with a required court date.
As the result of a traffic stop in the 900 block of SE 2 nd Street, Bryce Shores, 27, Galva, was cited for operating a vehicle when registration suspended for mandatory insurance and operating an uninsured vehicle. He was released with a required court date.
Officer was dispatched to the Exchange Street railroad tracks for a crossing arm malfunction. BNSF was contacted for repairs.
As the result of a traffic stop in the 1000 block of North Center Ave, Dandre Evans, 25, Wataga, was arrested for not having a valid driver’s license and speeding 54 in a 30mph zone. He was released with a required court date.
Officer was dispatched to a domestic disturbance in the 300 block of SW 4 th Street.
Officer met with a subject in the 1000 block of SE 2 nd Street in reference to a lost cell phone. The phone was located and returned to it’s owner.
Officer was dispatched to a residence on SW 4 th Street for a welfare check. The subject was fine.

October 20
As the result of a traffic stop in the 600 block of SE 2 nd Street, Edward Mensen, 58, Galva, was cited for operating a vehicle when registration suspended for mandatory insurance. He was released with a required court date.
As the result of a traffic stop in the 1100 block of SE 2 nd Street, Orina Hadnott, 29, Galesburg, was cited
for operating a vehicle when registration suspended for mandatory insurance and operating an uninsured vehicle. She was released with a required court date.
Officer was dispatched to the 300 block of SE 3 rd Ave for a landlord / tenant dispute.
