Virginia Kessler and Nancy Chu have retired from serving on the Macomb Educational Foundation Board, (MEF). Virginia, “Ginny”, was a teacher and administrator …in the Macomb School District for 38 years. She was one of the original founders and served on the MEF Board for 22 years. Nancy taught at WIU for 20 years and served on the MEF Board for 27 years. Their dedication and commitment to the students and teachers of District 185 has been greatly appreciated.
MEF obtains funding through donations, gifts, and fundraising efforts and then awards grants to teachers to supplement and enrich their classes. Approximately $250,000 has been given in the past 30 years. The Foundation is totally independent from any District 185 funds. Ginny and Nancy have been a vital part of this program.
Again, we would like to show our appreciation to Ginny Kessler and Nancy Chu for their loyalty and service and thank them on behalf of the Macomb Educational Foundation.
