In an inspiring display of community and leadership development, young individuals from Bureau, LaSalle, and Marshall-Putnam Counties gathered at Illinois Valley Community College for a unique 4-H Officer Training event. Embracing a game show theme, the event educated participants on leadership skills, parliamentary procedures, and effective teamwork. This initiative is part of a broader effort to empower youth to take active roles in their local 4-H clubs, promoting not only personal growth but also community engagement. As these young leaders hone their skills, the impact is expected to ripple through their clubs and communities, fostering a generation of skilled, communicative, and collaborative individuals.
“This was a great opportunity for youth to grow as leaders and take the knowledge gained back to their 4-H clubs,” shared Bureau County 4-H and Youth Development Program Coordinator, Sarah Poignant. Through such experiences, youth can contribute to the growth and success of their community.
