November 11, 2024 through November 17, 2024

November 11
As the result of a traffic stop in the 800 block of North Center Ave, Angelo D’Andrea, 87, Galva, was arrested for operating a vehicle with a cancelled drivers license, improper lane usage, and operating an uninsured vehicle. His vehicle was towed away and he was released with a required court date.
Officer was notified about a vehicle repossession that was occurring at Sentry Estates. The vehicle was recovered without incident.
Officer, along with the fire department and Stark Co Medic, were dispatched to a single vehicle accident with minor injuries south and east of town. Officer stood by until Knox County arrived to handle the crash report.

November 12
Officer, along with the fire department, were dispatched to the 500 block of NW 4 th Street for a report of a house filled with smoke.
Officer was dispatched to a residence on NW 7 th Ave for an out-of-control juvenile complaint. The juvenile was very uncooperative and began making suicidal and homicidal comments to the officer. The juvenile was taken by ambulance for evaluation / treatment.
Officer was dispatched to the 900 block of West Division Street for a verbal domestic disturbance. It was determined to be a subject having a mental health crisis.
As the result of a traffic stop in the 100 block of SW 9 th Ave, Jonathan Kohler, 27, Galesburg, was cited for operating a vehicle when registration suspended for mandatory insurance. He was released with a required court date.
Officer was dispatched to Route 34 just east of town for a complaint involving a pickup truck losing multiple tree branches out of the truck. Officer removed several branches, but did not locate the suspect vehicle.
Officer was dispatched to the 00 block of SW 4 th Street for a disturbance complaint. The offender appeared to be suffering from a mental health crisis.
Officer was dispatched to the 300 block of SW 3 rd Street for several 9-1-1 open line calls. The caller appeared to be suffering from a mental health crisis and denied needing police, fire, or EMS.

November 13
Officer, along with the fire department and Stark Co Medic, were dispatched to a single vehicle accident with unknown injuries on Route 34 about 1 miles east of town. Henry Co also responded and handled the crash report.
Officer was dispatched to a disturbance complaint in the 00 block of SW 4 th Street. Officer did not hear or see anything upon his arrival. This complaint was unfounded.
Officer was dispatched to the 200 block of Exchange Street for two 9-1-1 hang up call. It was determined to be a mis dial.
As the result of a traffic stop in the 900 block of SE 2 nd Street, Billie Malesker, 49, Little York, was cited for operating a vehicle when registration suspended for mandatory insurance. She was released with a required court date.
As the result of a traffic stop in the 300 block of SE 2 nd Street, Jonathan Kohler, 27, Galesburg, was cited for operating a vehicle when registration suspended for mandatory insurance. He was released with a required court date.
Officer was dispatched to the 400 block of NE 9 th Street for a 9-1-1 hang up complaint. It was determined to be an accidental dial.
Officer was dispatched to check for an overdue motorist after his vehicle broke down somewhere between Galva and Silvis. The subject was later located at a local motel.
Officer was dispatched to the 200 block of NW 4 th Ave for a group of juveniles fighting. The group was dispersed.

November 14
Officer was dispatched to the 900 block of West Division Street for a verbal domestic disturbance. It was determined to be a subject suffering from a mental health crisis.
Officer was dispatched to meet a complainant in the 200 block of SW 2 nd Ave in reference to a theft/forgery complaint. After investigating, it was learned the crime likely occurred in Princton, IL. Complainant was advised to contact authorities there for a report.
While patrolling, officer located two solicitors that were going door-to-door. Officer verified that nobody had obtained a permit. As the result, Adam Phillips, 27, East Moline, and Hanna Breuwet, 26, Rock Island, were each issued an administrative warning ticket (AWT) for soliciting with a permit.
As the result of a traffic stop in the 1000 block of SE 2 nd Street, Brandi York, 30, Galva, was cited for operating a vehicle when registration suspended for mandatory insurance. She was released with a required court date.
Officer was dispatched to the 900 block of SE 2 nd Street for a loose dog complaint. Officer was not able to locate.

November 15
Officer was dispatched to the 00 block of SE 3 rd Street to assist a citizen who had a cat stuck under the hood of her vehicle.
Officer was dispatched to the 1000 block of SE 2 nd Street to meet a complainant in reference to a traffic complaint. The incident occurred near Galesburg on Route 34. The complainant was referred to Knox Co.
Officer was dispatched to the 100 block of NE 5 th Street for a loose and vicious dog complaint. The neighbor’s dog had dug under it’s fence to escape. It was returned home.
Officer was dispatched to a residence on SW 10 th Ave to check the welfare of a subject that caused a scene at a child exchange in Altona. The subject was located and said they were fine.
Officer was dispatched to a residence on SW 4 th Street for a suicidal subject that had reportedly threatened themselves with a knife. The complaint was unfounded.
Officer was dispatched to the east edge of town to watch for an intoxicated and non-valid driver that was travelling between Kewanee and Galva. The suspect was not located.
As the result of a traffic stop in the 200 block of NW 8 th Ave, Jevante Powe, 35, Galva, was arrested for driving while license suspended and operating a vehicle when registration suspended for mandatory insurance. He was taken to the Galva DP for processing and later released with a required court date.
Officer was dispatched to the 1200 block of SE 2 nd Street for a complaint involving possible tampering with an anhydrous tank.

November 16
Officer was dispatched to the 300 block of NW 1 st Street to assist Henry Co with delivering a message to a vehicle owner after their vehicle was found abandoned near Kewanee.
Officer was dispatched to the 100 block of Exchange Street for several 9-1-1 calls that plotted there. A subject was found there and was suffering from a mental health crisis. The subject was transported by ambulance for treatment / evaluation.
Officer was dispatched to the 00 block of SW 4 th Street for a disturbance complaint.
Officer was dispatched to the 300 block of SE 6 th Street for a suspicious noise complaint. Officer checked the residence and nobody was found.

November 17
Officer was dispatched to the 00 block of SW 2 nd Street for a traffic complaint. Officer was not able to locate suspect vehicle.
Officer was dispatched to the 400 block of SE 4 th Ave to assist a citizen.
Officer was dispatched to the 00 block of SW 4 th Street for a verbal disturbance.
Officer was dispatched to the 00 block of SW 2 nd Street for a reckless driving complaint.
