Herbert Board

Herbert Allen “Herb” Bozard , age 94 of Industry, IL, passed away at 2:47 a.m. on Tuesday, February 25,2025 at Grand Prairie Assisted Living in Macomb,IL.

He was born on December 31, 1930 in Canton, Il, the son of John and Josephine Smith Bozard.  He married Ruth Elaine Aten on August 3, 1952.  She preceded him in death on April 24, 2013. He is survived by his children, Vicki (Rodney) Wagner of Geneso, IL, Greg (Lori) Bozard of rural Macomb, Sherrie (Rod) Brown of Marion, IA and Christine (Brent) Heaton of Industry, twelve grand-children, Troy (Melissa) Wagner,

Herb was preceded by his parents, wife and one sister Betty Carlock.

Herb lived in Industry since 1953. He served in the Korean War from 1951 till 1953.  He attended the Doddsville Methodist Church, and worked as a self-employed carpenter for many years until his retirement in 1992.

Herb was a member of the Industry Volunteer Fire and Rescue Squad for many years, and for several of those years served as the fire chief.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 1, 2025 at 1:30 p.m. at the Clugston-Tibbitts Funeral Home in Macomb.  Kendell Litchfield will officiate. Burial will be at the Industry Cemetery. Full military rites will be conducted by the Macomb American Legion and the Macomb VFW at the graveside.  The family will meet with friends from noon until 1:30 p.m. at the funeral home on Saturday.  Memorials may be made to Pinhook Park, the Industry Veteran’s Memorial, or the Industry Fire and Rescue Squad.  You may sign the guestbook and leave online condolences at clugston-tibbitts.com.
