The Whiteside County public safety tax referendum concluded with all 60 precincts reporting results. The referendum saw participation from 18% of registered voters, contributing a total of 6,574 votes. The proposition received 3,667 votes in favor, accounting for 55.78% approval, while 2,907 voters opposed, making up 44.22% of the tally. This outcome indicates a successful passage of the tax measure, reflecting the community’s support towards enhancing public safety initiatives. The voter turnout, however, remains notably low, with only 6,822 ballots cast out of 37,881 registered individuals
Fulton City has concluded its mayoral election with all precincts reporting. Shane Michael Malone, running as an independent candidate, has secured victory, gaining 53.03% of the total votes. Malone received 271 votes, defeating fellow independent candidate Keith King, who garnered 240 votes, marking a close contest with King capturing 46.97%. Voter turnout was notably low, with just 21.9% of registered voters casting their ballots. Of the 2,436 registered voters, only 534 participated in the election. The results were updated at 8:50 PM on April 1, 2025.
Bruce Franks has been elected as the new mayor of Prophetstown City. With all precincts reporting, Franks secured a commanding lead, capturing 87.37% of the total votes. His challenger, John Leoni, garnered 12.63%. The voter turnout was reported at 31%, with 396 ballots cast from 1,278 registered voters. This marks a significant achievement for Franks, who campaigned as an independent candidate.
Rock Falls City Ward 2 Alderperson, all four precincts have reported, marking the completion of the tally. Voter turnout was notably low, with only 17.2% of the 1,310 registered voters participating. The race was contested between two independent candidates. Marshall Doane emerged victorious, securing 55% of the votes with a total of 121 ballots in his favor. Meanwhile, Brian Snow garnered 45% of the votes, amounting to 99 ballots.
Sterling City’s tightly contested alderperson-at-large race, all 18 precincts have now reported results. The city experienced a voter turnout of 13.4%, with 1,268 ballots cast from 9,487 registered voters. The total votes counted stand at 2,103. Leading the pack is Allen Przysucha with 579 votes, achieving 27.53% of the total. Jim Wise closely follows at 27.06% with 569 votes. Kaitlyn Ekquist holds 23.3%, amassing 490 votes, while Ryan Nares secures 22.11% with 465 votes.
For the Erie Village Trustee 4-year term, all precincts have now reported, marking a complete tally. With a voter turnout of just 18%, Lukas Jepson, an independent candidate, has emerged as the frontrunner, securing 39.23% of the vote. Not far behind, William Berk also ran as an independent, capturing 36.12%, while fellow independent Tara Kapple garnered 24.64%. Out of 1,049 registered voters, 189 cast their ballots in this election, leading to a total of 418 votes counted.
In Lyndon Village, the mayoral election results are in, with Tyler Scott emerging as the clear victor. With all precincts reporting, voter turnout stood at 29.1%, as 105 ballots were cast from 361 registered voters. Tyler Scott, an independent candidate, secured 78.85% of the votes, translating to 82 of the total 104 counted. His opponent, Tim Armstrong, also running as an independent, received 22 votes, making up 21.15% of the tally.
