Last night, the voters of Whiteside County made a critical decision to ensure the continued safety and wellbeing of our community by approving the public safety tax. Sheriff John F. Booker would like to extend his heartfelt thanks to every voter who took the time to educate themselves on this important issue and made a choice that is best for the future of Whiteside County

I am truly grateful for the support of our community,” said Sheriff Booker. “This vote reflects the deep care our residents have for the safety and security of their families, neighborhoods, and the entire county. With the approval of this tax, we can continue to provide the level of public safety and law enforcement services that Whiteside County deserves.”

A key element of this public safety tax is its funding for the county’s 911 center. Whiteside County will now finally have a single, unified 911 center, which will greatly improve emergency response times, communication, and the overall effectiveness of emergency services. This new consolidated center will ensure that our first responders are equipped with the resources they need to keep our community safe and respond more efficiently in times of need

The creation of one central 911 center is a gamechanger for Whiteside County,” Sheriff Booker continued. It will streamline emergency response efforts and allow us to better coordinate services, improving outcomes for everyone in our community.”

The public safety tax will also fund vital improvements in law enforcement resources and enhance the overall safety infrastructure of the county. These funds will help maintain a strong and responsive public safety system that is prepared to meet the needs of Whiteside County residents

I would also like to thank everyone who worked tirelessly to advocate for this measure, and to those who contributed to educating voters on its importance,” Sheriff Booker said. “This is a testament to what we can accomplish when we work together to make Whiteside County a better place for everyone.”

Sheriff Booker also acknowledged the responsibility that comes with this trust and vowed to continue his commitment to protecting and serving the citizens of Whiteside County to the highest standard. I will ensure that every dollar raised through this tax will be used efficiently and effectively to enhance the safety of our county.” Sheriff Booker
