April 7
Officer was dispatched to assist Henry Co and Stark Co Medic, with a complaint involving a subject having chest pains in a vehicle NW of town.
Officer met with a subject at the Galva PD to register as a sex offender. A copy was emailed to Henry Co for LEADS entry.
Officer was dispatched to a residence on NW 1 st Ave for a suicidal subject. The subject was located and spoken to.
Officer was dispatched to the 00 block of SW 4 th Street for a 9-1-1 hang up complaint. It was determined to be a mis dial.
Officer was dispatched to the 00 block of SE 6 th Street for a disturbance and to remove an unwanted subject. The subject was advised to leave.
Officer was dispatched to the 00 block of NE 3 rd Street for a loose dog complaint. The owner was able to put the dog back inside.
April 8
While patrolling, officer noticed that all Galva railroad crossing arms were activated with no trains present. BNSF was contacted for repairs.
Officer was dispatched to the 00 block of SW 9 th Ave for a traffic obstruction involving a moving truck. The subject was advised to move the truck.
Officer received info about some threats that a resident made towards family members in Galva. These threats were unfounded.
April 9
Officer was dispatched to the 200 block of SE 4 th Ave for a property line dispute.
Officer met with a registered sex offender at the Galva PD to update their employment on their registry. An update copy was emailed to Henry Co for LEADS entry.
Officer was dispatched to the 100 block of NW 7 th Ave for a Facebook threats complaint.
April 10
Officer was dispatched to the 800 block of SE 1 st Street for a report of two loose dogs that were contained. It was learned they belonged to a neighbor and were returned.
Officer was dispatched to the Park District to assist a citizen.
Officer was dispatched to the south edge of town for a motorist assist. The vehicle was able to continue on it’s way.
April 11
Officer was dispatched to the 200 block of SW 5 th Street for a criminal damage to property complaint. After an investigation, Jacob Simoneaux, 34, Galva, was arrested for 2 counts of violation of an order of protection, criminal damage to property, and also received an additional charge of aggravated battery to a police officer during his arrest. He was taken to the Henry Co Jail.
Officer was dispatched to the east edge of town for a reckless driving complaint. Officer located the vehicle, but did not observe any violations for a traffic stop.
As the result of a traffic stop in the 900 block of SE 2 nd Street, Sara Emery, 44, Tampico, was cited for operating a vehicle when registration suspended for mandatory insurance and operating an uninsured vehicle. She was released with a required court date.
Officer was dispatched to the Galva Park District for an illegal burning complaint. 2 juveniles had transported a chair there and set it on fire. The fire was put out and the juveniles cleaned up the remnants.
Officer was dispatched to the 600 block of Swank Street for a solicitor complaint. The subject was located and did not have a permit. He was asked to leave until he obtained a permit.
Officer assisted Kewanee PD and Henry Co with a pursuit involving a stolen car that began in Kewanee. The suspect vehicle crashed and rolled several times on the Galva-Atkinson blacktop south of Page Street. The suspect was arrested on multiple charges.
Officer was dispatched to the 100 block of SE 2 nd Ave for a suspicious activity complaint.
Officer assisted Kewanee PD with attempting to locate a missing person. The subject was located in southern Illinois.
April 12
Officer was dispatched to the Galva-Atkinson blacktop to assist a motorist. The subject was feeling sick and had pulled over. They were able to continue on.
Officer was dispatched to assist a subject whose vehicle became disabled in the 500 block of NW 5 th Street. The vehicle was pushed off the roadway.
Officer was dispatched to the 300 block of NW 1 st Street for a juvenile complaint involving a subject throwing rocks.
Officer was dispatched to the 00 block of SE 2 nd Street for an illegal burn complaint. The fire was put out.
Officer was dispatched to a residence on SW 6 th Street for a welfare check. The subject was fine.
April 13
Officer was dispatched to the 800 block of West Division Street for a loose dog complaint. A family member responded and put the dog back inside the house.
Officer was dispatched to the 600 block of NW 1 st Ave for a verbal disturbance complaint.
Officer was dispatched to the 100 block of Morgan Road for a minibike complaint. Officer was not able
to locate.
Officer removed an animal carcass from the roadway in the 1000 block of North Center Ave.
