The Illinois Liquor Control Commission is drawing attention to Alcohol Awareness Month, encouraging residents to learn about the risks associated with excessive drinking. The initiative focuses on education, early intervention, and breaking the stigma tied to alcohol-related issues. State officials remind the public that support services and helpful resources are widely available for those concerned about their own or someone else’s alcohol use. The commission’s efforts this month aim to spark conversations about prevention, highlight the importance of seeking help early, and ensure communities have the tools they need to address alcohol misuse across Illinois.
“The ILCC remains committed to educating the public, and especially youth, about the risk factors associated with abusing alcohol and underage drinking. If we can prevent one person from being affected by the dangers of alcohol, then all the work and energy we put into promoting alcohol awareness is worth it,” said Illinois Liquor Control Commission Executive Director Lisa Gardner.
If you or someone you know is struggling with alcohol addiction or related issues, seek help from healthcare professionals or support groups specialized in alcohol recovery.
