April 21, 2025 through April 27, 2025

April 21
Officer was dispatched to assist Kewanee PD with a call involving shots being fired in the 500 block of South Main Street.
Officer met with a sex offender at the Galva PD to update their registration as they were moving out of town. A notification form was completed and emailed to Henry Co for LEADS entry.
Officer was dispatched to the 00 block of NW 3 rd Street to check on several juveniles that “appeared to be suspicious.” Officer located the juveniles. This complaint was unfounded.
Officer met with a citizen who needed to pick up stolen vehicle parts that Galva PD had recovered for Knoxville PD last week.

April 22
Officer spoke to a resident by telephone in reference to concerns about an animal’s welfare. The animal appeared to be fine.
Officer was dispatched to the 900 block of SE 2 nd Street for a 9-1-1 hang up complaint. Officer was not able to locate anyone needing assistance.
As the result of a traffic stop in the 900 block of SE 2 nd Street, Nusturia Vaughn, 70, Kewanee, was arrested for driving while license suspended, operating a vehicle when registration suspended for mandatory insurance, and operating an uninsured vehicle. She was released with a required Kewanee court date.
As the result of a traffic stop in the 100 block of Exchange Street, Christi Knapp, 45, Galesburg, was cited for operating a vehicle when registration suspended for mandatory insurance. She was released with a required court date.
Officer was dispatched to the 400 block of SE 3 rd Street for a solicitor complaint. Officer checked the area and was not able to locate.
As the result of a traffic stop in the 600 block of NW 11 th Street, Jiliane Johnson, 45, Altona, was cited for operating a vehicle when registration suspended for mandatory insurance and operating an uninsured vehicle. She was released with a required court date.
Officer was dispatched to the 300 block of SE 4 th Ave for a complaint of a door being open on a vacant house. Nobody was present. Officer contacted the owner, who advised it was accidentally left open.
Officer went to the 500 block of SW 3 rd Street to locate a wanted subject. As the result, Corina Jaco, 50, Galva, was arrested on a Henry Co warrant for the charge of failing to appear on the charge of battery. She was taken to the Henry Co Jail.

April 23
Officer was flagged down about a low hanging wire in the 200 block of SE 3 rd Ave. Officer determined it was a co-ax cable. Mediacom was notified for repairs.
Officer was dispatched to the 00 block of SW 8 th Ave for a civil standby to exchange property.
Officer was dispatched to the 00 block of NE 8 th Ave to complete a low speed vehicle inspection.
Officer was dispatched to the 500 block of SW 3 rd Ave for a telephone harassment complaint.
Officer was dispatched to the 200 block of SE 4 th Ave for a parking complaint on a city-owner alleyway. The vehicle was moved.

April 24
Officer spoke to a resident in the 400 block of NW 2 nd Ave about a city ordinance violation.
Officer spoke to a resident in the 600 block of NW 4 th Street about a city ordinance violation.
Officer was dispatched to the 700 block of NW 2 nd Street for a loose dog complaint.
Officer was dispatched to the 00 block of SW 9 th Ave for a verbal domestic disturbance.
Officer assisted Kewanee PD with attempting to locate a suicidal subject somewhere between Galva and Kewanee. The suspect was located by Henry Co and transported to area hospital.

April 25
Officer went to the 400 block of SW 4 th Ave to attempt to locate a wanted subject. As the result, Jamie Howard, 36, Galva, was arrested on a Knox Co warrant for failing to appear on the charges of driving while license suspended, operating a vehicle when registration suspended for mandatory insurance and operating an uninsured vehicle. Knox Co requested she be released with a new Knox Co court date.
Officer was dispatched to the 600 block of NW 1 st Ave for a civil property dispute.
Officer was dispatched to the 100 block of NW 8 th Ave for a domestic disturbance.
Officer was dispatched to the railroad tracks near the NE 2 nd Street crossing for a report of young children playing near the tracks.
Officer was dispatched to the 500 block of SE 2 nd Street for a civil stand by.
Officer was dispatched to the 100 block of SE 1 st Ave for a report of a suspicious person asking to use the restroom. Officer was not able to locate.

April 26
Officer was dispatched to the 200 block of SW 6 th Street for a barking dog complaint.
Officer was dispatched to the 500 block of SW 3 rd Ave for a domestic disturbance between father and son.
Officer was dispatched to the 200 block of NW 1 st Ave for a domestic disturbance.
Officer was dispatched to the 00 block of SW 4 th Street for a verbal disturbance. The subject appeared to be suffering from a mental health crisis.
Officer was again dispatched to the 00 block of SW 4 th Street for a verbal disturbance. The subject appeared to be suffering from a mental health crisis.
Officer was dispatched to the 00 block of SW 4 th Street for a motorist assist involving a lockout. Henry Co was able to unlock the door.
Officer was dispatched to the 400 block of NW 1 st Street for a neighbor dispute.

April 27
Officer was dispatched to the 400 block of East Division Street for an open door on a vacant house. The door was pulled shut.
Officer was dispatched to the 1000 block of North Center Ave for a 9-1-1 open line call. IT was determined to be a pocket dial.
Officer was dispatched to the 300 block of NW 2 nd Street for a suspicious noise complaint after the resident heard someone outside. Officer was not able to locate anyone.
Officer was dispatched to the intersection of SW 6 th Street and SW 1 st Ave for a two vehicle accident with damage. As the result, Patrick Hammons, 69, Galva, was issued citations for failure to yield the right of way at a stop intersection and operating an uninsured vehicle. A crash report was completed. April 25
Amanda Vest, 46, Galesburg, was issued citations for speeding and having expired registration in the 1000 block of North Center Ave.

April 26
Patrick Hammons, 69, Galva, was issued citations for disobeying a stop sign, speeding, and operating an uninsured vehicle in the 500 block of SW 7 th Street.
Bonnie Schilling, 74, Lafayette, was issued a citation for speeding in the 1000 block of North Center Ave.

April 27
Donald Anders, 48, Siler City, NC, was issued a citation for speeding in the 600 block of North Center Ave.
