The Illinois Department of Labor has announced a settlement addressing complaints of unpaid wages at Bulk Storage, Incorporated. Over $483,000 will be distributed to more than three dozen public construction workers following an investigation into wage issues. Officials say the contractor will also pay $85,000 in penalties as part of the agreement. While the company has agreed to these payments, the settlement includes no admission of liability on their part. State officials emphasized the importance of fair compensation for workers and reiterated their ongoing commitment to enforcing wage laws across Illinois public projects. Payouts to affected workers are expected to begin soon.

“This agreement underscores the importance of ensuring that workers are paid the wages they’ve earned and are owed,” said Illinois Department of Labor Director Jane Flanagan. “Recovering these funds not only makes these workers whole but underscores that every employer on public works and construction projects is expected to follow the law and uphold their obligations.”
