Price Eugene “Gene” Edwards, 74, of Industry passed away at 12:45 a.m. Monday, June 9, 2025 at his residence.
He was born on September 17, 1950 in Canton to Price Charles and Mary Helen Ford Edwards. He married Deborah Ann (Kliffmiller) Cox, his wife of 31 years on May 27, 1994 in the chapel of Wesley United Methodist Church in Macomb. She survives.
This union of marriage created a blended family. Surviving are his sons, Charlie Hansmeyer of Missoula, Montana, Ryan (Carmen) Edwards of Woodlawn, Tennessee and Aaron Edwards of Macomb; his daughters, Jennifer (Max) Edwards of Macomb and Heidi (Heath) Geiman of North Liberty, Iowa; grandchildren, River, Noah and Harper Hansmeyer, Cody, Kaytlyn, and Ashlee Edwards, Christopher Haney and Breanna Hite; brother, Ronald (Harmony) Edwards of North Pekin; brother-in-laws, Blaine (Carol) Kliffmiller of Rushville, Jeff (Jane) Kliffmiller of Rushville and Kevin Kliffmiller of Rushville; sister-in-law, Sheila (John ) Campbell of Manchester, Tennessee and mother-in-law, Anna Kliffmiller of Rushville.
He was preceded in death by his parents Price and Mary Edwards; sister, Mary Sue Edwards; daughter, Jessica Cox; grandson, Shiloh Blue Hansmeyer and father-in-law, Ivan Kliffmiller.
Gene was a 1968 graduate of Canton High School. He joined the United States Navy and served in the Brown Water Navy as a Helmsman for the US Naval Reserves aboard the USS Brule AKL-28 during the Vietnam War from December 21, 1969 to April 23, 1971 where he was awarded the National Defense Ribbon, Vietnam Expeditionary Unit Citation and during Combat action was in the Cambodian Expeditionary.
He loved family time, traveling with his wife, golfing, cooking and watching tv.
Cremation rites have been accorded. A visitation will be held from 5 to 6:45 p.m. Wednesday, June 18, 2025 at Clugston-Tibbitts Funeral Home in Macomb. Full military rites will be conducted at the funeral Home by the Macomb American Legion and Macomb VFW at 6:45 p.m. June 18, 2025. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
Memorials may be made to the Industry Fire and Rescue Squad.
