Chalk art enthusiasts are invited to transform Kewanee’s old go-kart track into a vibrant outdoor gallery during the annual Prairie Chicken Arts Festival. From July 18th at 8 AM to July 19th at 3 PM, artists of all skill levels—youth, amateur, and professional—can showcase their talent on giant 96” x 96” squares, with professional spaces stretching up to 120”. Registration fees include chalk and tote bags, with cash prizes awarded across multiple age and skill categories. Winners will be announced Saturday at 4 PM in the Rotary tent.
Art enthusiasts have the opportunity to take part in the upcoming Prairie Chicken Arts Festival Chalk Art Competition. To secure a spot, pre-registration is encouraged since spaces are limited and assigned on a first-come, first-served basis. Interested participants can reserve their place through Eventbrite or by emailing [email protected] for a registration form. While walk-up registration will be available on the day of the event, participation is not guaranteed unless you pre-register. Don’t miss your chance to create vibrant chalk masterpieces while celebrating local creativity.
