The Dixon Police Department announces the arrest of Kairyn Lottman, age 18, of Dixon, IL for Reckless Discharge of a Firearm (Class 4 Felony) and
Unlawful Possession of Firearm Ammunition without Requisite Firearm Owner’s Identification Card (Class A Misdemeanor).
This morning, at approximately 4:25am, the Dixon Police Department received a report of shots fired in a field off of Tilton Park Drive. Patrol officers arrived on scene and began to speak with numerous witnesses. Officers were apprised that they heard numerous shots fired in the field behind their houses.
During the course of the investigation, officers located Lottman in the area of the shooting. The Dixon Police Department and the Lee County Sheriff’s
Department each utilized their K-9 to conduct an article search of the area. Lottman was subsequently arrested and transported to the Dixon Police Department for processing.
The investigation is still ongoing with additional charges pending. Anyone who locates any evidence which may be related to this call is asked to contact the
