The Illinois Housing Development Authority is now taking applications for its Permanent Supportive Housing Development Program. This initiative provides both loans and grants aimed at expanding affordable housing options with supportive services. New this year, resources from the Illinois Opioid Remediation Fund are available to back projects targeting individuals with substance use and co-occurring disorders. Nonprofits and housing agencies interested in developing or rehabilitating housing with on-site support are encouraged to apply. The program is part of ongoing efforts to address housing insecurity and the opioid crisis, helping ensure safe, stable homes paired with critical recovery services.
Development teams seeking to participate in IHDA’s Permanent Supportive Housing Development Program must attend a mandatory informational webinar on Wednesday, August 6, from 11:00 a.m. to noon. Online registration is required. A separate session is scheduled for those interested in projects funded by the Illinois Opioid Remediation Fund, highlighting additional geographic and population requirements. That webinar takes place on Thursday, August 7, at 1:00 p.m. Registration is available online. Preliminary Project Assessments are due September 17, while full applications will be required in late January 2026. More details and application materials can be found on the IHDA website.
