Registration for fall and school-year arts education programs is now open at Woodlawn Arts Academy in Sterling. The Academy offers visual arts, dance, music, theater, culinary and education classes and workshops for children and adults of all ages, along with a private, arts-based preschool program for children ages 3-5. This year’s preschool program kicks off in mid-August.
Most other programs begin at the start of September. Financial assistance is available on a sliding scale for all programs. Families are encouraged to visit
woodlawnartsacademy.com/assistance for details on the generous program.
The Academy kicked off its 20th year in May with a Kentucky Derby themed fundraiser and celebration, along with the opening of an art exhibit featuring photos from its two decades of programming. The first year of operations at the current facility, 3807 Woodlawn Road in Sterling, the Academy had 41 registrations.
This summer alone, 1,135 registrants enjoyed programming culminating with art exhibits and camp experience shows, three performances of “The Music Man Jr.,” music and theatre performances, three dance recitals, a successful showing at a national dance competition.
Registration for the fall session and school-year programs is now available online at woodlawnartsacademy.com, by calling 815-626-4278 or in person at Woodlawn Arts Academy. Online registration is not available for dance classes, theatre production programs and select other programming.
