Truck rental company doesn’t want ICE agents breaking cargo rules

(The Center Square) – Truck rental company Penske called the use of its rental vehicle in a Department of Homeland Security immigration enforcement operation “improper” after a raid at a Home Depot in California.

DHS said it would continue to do its job after the company contacted the federal agency about its rules prohibiting people from riding in the cargo of its rental trucks.

Penske reached out after people filmed federal agents popping out of the back of a Penske rental truck during the raid.

“Penske strictly prohibits the transportation of people in the cargo area of its vehicles under any circumstances. The company was not made aware that its trucks would be used in today’s operation and did not authorize this,” Pennsylvania-based Penske said in a statement. “Penske will reach out to DHS and reinforce its policy to avoid improper use of its vehicles in the future.”

DHS officials said they plan to continue to enforce U.S. immigration laws.

“This week, Border Patrol conducted a targeted raid, dubbed Trojan Horse, in Los Angeles at a Home Depot that resulted in the arrest of 16 illegal aliens from Guatemala, Mexico, Honduras, and Nicaragua,” a DHS spokesperson said. “Federal law enforcement will continue utilizing all resources to arrest criminal illegal aliens and keep Americans safe.”

As DHS officials jumped from the back of Penske truck, migrants began fleeing the parking lot, video shows.
